Executive Engagement with Scrum

Add to calendar

A common trend that we see with organizations excelling with Agile is that they have engaged leadership teams. By engaged, we do not mean that leadership is merely supportive of the Agile efforts underway, we mean leadership is actively engaged in the process to execute and improve.

Well performing Scrum teams should be identifying impediments each Sprint. Many of these issues may be resolved at the team level, but some may be organizational or systematic constraints requiring action from higher levels of the organization. If not resolved quickly, these impediments will continue to slow down the organization’s ability to deliver.

This session is designed to help leaders consider a model that will help them take a hands-on approach to removing organizational impediments. We will describe what some scaling models call an “Executive Active Team” whose responsibility is to help the organization go faster, not by telling people to work harder, but by owning the removal of organizational and systematic constraints that are slowing down the organization’s ability to deliver.

We’ll also review a case study that demonstrates the outstanding results achieved by one company with an engaged leadership team applying some of these winning patterns.
